He played off the “Let’s Go Royals” chants from the Kansas City crowd that were disrupting the segment, and brought it back around to himself. Orton was electric here, probably more on point than he’s been in quite a long time.

HEYMAN TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF ME WWE SERIES

This leaves Randy as a lone wolf who’s broken away from The Authority, which will lead him into his match with Brock down the line (hopefully at Survivor Series but who the hell knows with Lesnar)…Īnd speaking of Lesnar, and also Randy’s possibly lone-wolf future, we also got a nice little segment tonight between Orton, Cena, and Paul Heyman. So, what I’m envisioning here is that Orton ends up beating Cena with a little help from The Authority, only for Seth to go after Orton again afterwards. Now seems like the time to also mention that Triple H made the Cena/Orton cell match a number one contender match for Brock Lesnar’s title. Eventually Dean looked like he was rolling until RKO OUT OF NOWHERE to end it.īut then… THEN… Seth Rollins hit the Curbstomp on Randy Orton! This left Seth Rollins standing tall, and Orton will I’m sure be questioning why he’s still teaming up with The Authority when they seem to be more interested in Seth Rollins as “the undisputed future of the WWE”. Dean rolled back under the cell at the last second though, and they all continued to brawl in the cell. And the Street Fight itself was wild enough for a Raw main event (though, why the hell were they tagging in and out in a Street Fight? Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of the stipulation?), but of course The Authority brought the cell down when they thought they had things well in hand, to try and trap Cena alone in there. John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight. Speaking of the cell, the main event ended up in there because of course it did! It all started with Triple H making the match: Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Kane vs. Given what these two men have done to each other in the past, we’re in for something truly special in the cell. This was top notch execution, and I can’t wait to see it play out on Sunday. Seth explaining that he’s going to win because he’s just head and shoulders smarter than everyone else involved. Ambrose saying he doesn’t care, he’s got scars and lost teeth before, he’s used to it. Foley explaining what the cell can do to you. The delivery of all three guys was flawless here. In short, Mick Foley sold the shit out of this match, and while it probably didn’t even need more selling because it’s Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a Cell for God’s sake, it was great to see Foley use his personal history to pump this match that much more. And he just came by to let these two men know that while they may think that they’ve taken and given each other beatings before, Hell in a Cell is an entirely new beast. Mick Foley, who pays an undisclosed amount for the WWE Network (I bet it’s still $9.99 because Fuck Employee Discounts), had his life forever altered by the Hell in a Cell structure. … because if there’s anyone who has the credentials to sell the hell out of a Hell in a Cell match, well… it’s this guy. Thankfully after Dean piledrove the doll, the real Seth came out, presumably to save the life of his doll pal.Īnd then? MICK FREAKIN’ FOLEY!! The Hardcore Legend’s music hit and the place went berserk! Well, at least the room I was watching in went berserk, which consisted of myself and Handsome Junio. Dean was trying to make the best of this but he didn’t look particularly comfortable with any of it and the crowd didn’t know what exactly to make of it. Point is it was a doll made to look like Seth Rollins, and Dean began attacking it with weaponry. Maybe more like one of those CPR training dolls, or something. And sure enough, when he opened it up… Seth Rollins sex doll? Well, not exactly. Dean Ambrose came out with a big bag that looked like it contained a body. So let’s talk about that Mick Foley segment, shall we? It started out pretty awkwardly. Oh and also… MICK FREAKIN’ FOLEY, PEOPLE!!! Just good old fashioned wrestling angles… and a few Divas matches. And it was another week with no childish gimmicks. And for the most part, they did a damn good job. The WWE seemed to pull out all the stops this week to try and convince people to subscribe to the Network and get in on Hell in a Cell this Sunday.
